Why Become a Bark Ranger?

Besides the benefits you receive as a Bark Ranger (see below), you’re helping the Palmer Doggie Depot stay open and free to the public. Subscriptions allow us to plan future improvements to the park and ensure that it stays open and safe. Without reliable income, we only have to do last minute fundraising efforts or grants to meet our basic needs.

  • Free Perk at Events

    Get a free perk at every event. Perks will change depending on the event, but examples include a drink ticket, photo booth access, paw prints, etc.)!

  • Public Recognition (optional)

    We’re working on a special Bark Rangers board at the park to show off all of our members! This will be optional and pre-confirmed.

Volunteer Run - Donation Driven!

  • We are a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit

    We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, which means your donations (and your employer’s donations), are tax deductible.

  • What do we do with the money?

    Our annual budget is about $11,000. This covers:

    Liability and Board Insurance ($2,000)
    Trash handling ($1500/yr)
    Park maintenance, including gravel ($3500/yr)
    Storage Unit ($800)
    Water/Sewer ($400)
    This website ($300)
    PO Box ($200)
    Savings for an emergency fund to cover future years where we do not raise enough ($2,250)

  • Volunteer Run

    The Palmer Doggie Depot is run by a board of 9 volunteers! We do our best to maximize the park’s budget and find ways to continuously improve the park.

    We rely on additional volunteers to help out with events, cleanups, and provide in-kind donations or services to supplement our donations or grants (when available).
